About the Service
The Global Talent Stream offers expedited processing (10 business days in 80% of cases) for innovative companies hiring highly skilled workers. Employers must develop a Labour Market Benefits Plan, pay current wages, and comply with program rules. Category A requires a referral from a designated partner; Category B covers high-demand occupations listed in the Global Talent Stream's list of eligible occupations.
Why choose this service?
Canadian employers who hire foreign workers must prove that they operate a legitimate business in good standing, that they are able to pay the offered wage, that they will provide the promised working conditions, and that they will keep accurate records for inspection.
These obligations apply to all hiring programs, whether they are based on an LMIA or are exempt. However, they do not apply when the employer hires a person who already holds an open work permit, such as a post-graduation work permit, a spousal open work permit, an International Experience Canada Working Holiday permit, or a bridging open work permit.
