About the Service

The Primary Agriculture Stream allows employers to hire foreign workers for activities related to livestock farming, crop production, greenhouses, and nurseries. The work must correspond to specific NOC codes (e.g., 80020, 84120, 85100). Employers can use the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (for Mexico and Caribbean countries) or the Agricultural Stream (all countries). Housing and transportation must be provided.

Why choose this service?

Canadian employers who hire foreign workers must prove that they operate a legitimate business in good standing, that they are able to pay the offered wage, that they will provide the promised working conditions, and that they will keep accurate records for inspection.

These obligations apply to all hiring programs, whether they are based on an LMIA or are exempt. However, they do not apply when the employer hires a person who already holds an open work permit, such as a post-graduation work permit, a spousal open work permit, an International Experience Canada Working Holiday permit, or a bridging open work permit.
